Dina Mishev Writing
Dina Mishev has been living and writing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming since 1997. A graduate of Northwestern University with degrees in Math and Economics, Dina moved to Wyoming for a year immediately following college. The plan was to learn how to ski before returning to law school on the East Coast the following fall. The latter part of that plan was thrown out the window within two weeks of her arrival in Jackson. The former part remains a work in progress. When snow is in short supply, Dina races her road bike, climbs, hikes, drools over fabulous dresses that have no purpose in Jackson, and makes cookie dough.
Dina’s writing career stared shortly after her arrival in Wyoming when the Jackson Hole News hired her to write a bi-weekly column about 20-something life in the valley. As she had no real writing clips (math majors rarely do), her “application” included photocopied pages from her journal. Five years later Dina was interning and writing for Outside magazine. Today she writes about travel, sports, adventure, gear, art, people, and lifestyle topics for Outside, National Geographic Adventure, The Chicago Tribune, Big Sky Journal, Western Art & Architecture, Sunset, Cooking Light, NWA World Traveler, United Hemispheres, Wyoming Tourism, Arizona Tourism, and Mobil Travel Guide. Assignments have taken her from spas in Africa to granite cliffs in Tasmania. Dina also does freelance editing and writes profiles, press releases, and advertorial copy for business clients. Her first book, Wyoming Curiosities, was published by Globe Pequot in July 2007. She is presently working with the Lauren Galit Agency on her second book.
